Yes it's a major cause of infection. When to throw it out...Anything opened like Mascara 3 months,
Lipsticks, Glosses, 1 year, Eye Shadows 1-1 1/2 years. Creams 1 year. Anything unopened has a shelf life of 3 years. You can tell if a products is off by it's discoloration and smell. Don't use sponges, use brushes that could be cleaned with brush cleanser. If you need more advice it's good to come in to my store 2x a year with your products and I go through it with you!!
